Beautiful Big Shot...Beautiful new camera...Beautiful Wings

Hello!

What an exciting day I had yesterday!  The UPS man delivered a HUGE box filled with my new Big Shot and all the goodies to go with it.  Then my new camera arrived and I've been figuring that out.  Hopefully I should be able to get some better pictures on the blog now.

So, my first card with the Big Shot is a birthday card for one of my best friends, Liz.  She's part of my small group at Church and has been so wonderful to me.  She hates bright colours and loves neutrals, so this is what I made for her.  This was inspired by fabulous US demo Dawn Griffiths.

I've used Stampin' Up's Cardstock vellum for the butterflies, and it cut and embossed beautifully, giving such a delicate effect.  I also embossed the very vanilla layer with the perfect polka dots embossing folder, and for even more texture, I've added ruffled seam binding (love it!  It's silky, like parachute material).

Here you can see that I've only adhered the butterflies in the centre, so that their wings "flutter", and I've embellished them with basic pearls.  I've finished off with elegant striped DSP, a punched border and a lovely sentiment from the new Level 2 hostess set, Something to Celebrate, which is BRILLIANT, because it has a sentiment for pretty much all occasions.

Ingredients: (all Stampin' Up, unless otherwise stated)

Stamps: Something to Celebrate (Mini catalogue, hostess level 2 set)
Ink: Chocolate chip classic
Cardstock:  Crumb cake, very vanilla, white cardstock vellum
Paper: Neutrals patterns DSP stack (crumb cake)
Tools: Big Shot, beautiful wings embosslit, perfect polka dots embossing folder, scallop trim border punch
Embellishments:  Crumb cake seam binding, basic pearls

This was my second attempt at a card for Liz....this is the first, but I wasn't happy with it, as I didn't feel it suited her...I'll have to find someone else to give this one to!

Thanks for stopping by, and back soon with some more projects from my huge box of mini catalogue goodies!

One more sleep!

Good afternoon stampers!  I'm very excited!  My Big Shot is being delivered tomorrow, along with a load of dies and embossing folders.  I can't wait!

Plus, I've had very little luck taking decent pics and uploading them with my phone camera, so I've gone and ordered a digital camera too!  And guess when that's arriving?  Yep! Tomorrow!  After that, you won't be able to shut me up!  I'll be able to show you everything I've been working on!

I've ordered the machine itself, the top note, the pillow box, the mini milk carton, fun flowers, little leaves, the beautiful wings embosslit and two embossing folders.  I've also ordered the Fun Frames stamp set with matching punch, the fabulous owl punch, Baby Blossoms stamp set and the incredible value Neutrals designer series paper stack (a must-have for those bloke cards!)  Woo hoooo!  Let's hope the UPS man is early.

See you tomorrow, hopefully with decent pictures of my newest projects!

Happy Mother's Day - Take Two!

And here is the card I made for my sister to give to our Mum....I used whisper white cardstock and sunny garden DSP.  I stamped the word mum using the Schoolbook Serif alpha stamp set, and the butterflies using Butterfly Prints and the "rock and roll" method with two colours of ink.  I embellished with hand rolled rolled roses in daffodil delight, and lots of basic rhinestones for added bling!  I made a matching box with crumb cake cardstock, stamped with crumb cake ink, and more bling!  My Mum loved both her cards :)

Sorry about the size of the pictures, I 've not quite got the hang of this yet...I'll try to figure it out for next time!

Happy Mother's Day

This is the card I made for my Mum for Mother's Day...I used very vanilla, rose red and crumb cake cardstock, crumb cake ink and the gorgeous new Springtime Vintage DSP and crumb cake seam binding ribbon from the new mini catalogue.  I used the scallop border and corner punches and added some basic pearls and hand rolled roses.

Hello!!! Is anyone there????

Hello and a warm welcome to my brand new blog! Come in, kick off your shoes, grab a cuppa and make yourself at home :)  Let's talk craft!

I love to create, and I love Stampin' Up products, I've been a devoted customer for quite a while, and having a wishlist as long as my arm, it seemed a natural progression to finally take the plunge and join the Stampin' Up family as a demonstrator!  So, this will be my place to share my creations, advertise my classes and interact with my customers (and hopefully allow new ones to find me!)

I've chosen a very EXCITING  time to begin my Demo career, as tomorrow (or technically, today) is the launch of the NEW MINI CATALOGUE, and boy, are there some fabulous things in there!  I can't wait to share them with you over the coming days and weeks.

The BIG news is the BIG SHOT!  The new Mini boasts the die cutting machine itself, along with a host of fabulous dies and embossing folders, many of which are exclusive to Stampin' Up.

There are also loads of gorgeous new stamp sets, including the stunning vintage-style Strength and Hope set, a very special release supporting The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  There are also new designs in the famous Stampin' Up punch range, beautiful new designer papers and all manner of other crafting goodness!

So, I'll be back soon with some pictures of the projects I've been working on with stuff from the new Mini....at least I will as soon as I can figure out how to download the pictures from my camera to the PC and then upload them here! LOL!

See you soon!
