Crumb Cake Father's Day

Masculine cards are often a problem, but two new A La Carte stamps from Stampin Up make cards for the chaps easy!  The first, using the motorcycle stamp (£7.95) from the Mini catalogue, is stamped in crumb cake ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock.  I've distressed the cardstock with the spritzer tool and crumb cake marker, and sponged the edges, again with crumb cake.  The card base uses crumb cake cardstock, and the larger mat uses the striped paper from the Neutrals designer paper stack, embossed with the square lattice embossing folder.  The paper stack is fabulous value, with great co-ordinating patterns, and emobssing it makes it feel like fabric!  The sentiment is from the fabulous Level 2 hostess set, Something to Celebrate, which you can get free if you host a qualifying workshop.  I finished the card with a couple of silver brads, a button from the Big Designer Buttons collection, and some linen thread.

The second card uses the same elements, but features the fantastic  Sail Away stamp (8.95).

I really love these monochrome cards, using texture to give interest.  I hope you do too!

Recipe:

Stamps:  Sail Away (8.95) Motorcycle (7.95) Something to celebrate (free hostess set)
Paper & Cardstock:  Neutrals designer series paper patterns stack £15.50m, very vanilla cs, crumb cake cs.
Inks:  crumb cake classic ink, crumb cake marker
Tools:  spritzer tool, Big Shot, square lattice embossing folder
Embellishments: silver brads, linen thread, Big designer button.

Until next time, jolly stamping!  Allie x

I'm back!

Life sometimes throws you a curve...just as I signed up for Stampin' Up and was all keen to get going, I got very poorly and I've spent the last five months having to rest and recover.  Now I'm starting to feel better, I hope I will be able to get my Stampin' Up career properly started!  Better late than never!

So, here are a couple of cards I made recently.  The first is a CASE from the Stampin Up Impressions demonstrator magazine.  This card uses the Strength and Hope stamp set from the Mini,  Not only are these stamps beautiful, but Stampin' Up is donating £1 from the sale of each set to breast cancer research.

Stamp set:  Strength and Hope, Tiny Tags
Cardstock:  Whisper white, blushing bride
Mediums: Baja breeze, blushing pride, peach parfait and so saffron classic ink pads
Punches: Medium jewellery tag
Embellishments: In colour ribbon, blushing bride.  Basic rhinestones

My second offering is an easel card using more goodies from the mini.  The paper is from the gorgeous Springtime Vintage DSP pack.  The flower is cut using the Fun Flowers die for the big shot, and texturized using embossing folders.  I love the ruffled seam binding, and the sentiment punched out using the new decorative label punch.  The sentiment uses the Four Frames stamp set and the fantastic Level Two hostess set, Something to Celebrate, which has sentiments for every occasion.

Stamp sets: Four Frames, Something to celebrate
Cardstock: very vanilla, baja breeze, pear pizazz
Ink: Baja breeze classic ink
Punches: scallop trim border, scallop trim corner, bird punch (leaves), decorative label
Big Shot, fun flowers die, perfect polka dots and square lattice embossing folders
Embellishments: Basic rhinestones, baja breeze seam binding, Big Designer button, Linen thread

That's all for now.  I hope the pictures are clear enough to see, I'm struggling with getting good images at the moment.  Back tomorrow with a couple of Fathers Day cards.

Jolly crafting!  Allie x
